Vinted Members Express Frustration About Size Updates

Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The popular resale platform has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel failing to inform every member regarding the update.

Countless users and merchants are posting online stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with similar services.

It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, which has left users frustrated.

Measurement Approach Modifications

Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10.

With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18.

Member Stories

A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".

"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Another user, based in Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she stated.

Manual Updates

Another shopper, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".

"For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial following partial earnings loss," she explained.

Service Background

The app has more than 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has proved a popular alternative to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options following member complaints.
